ENCARTE: IRON MAIDEN [4]

Longo texto (10 parágrafos – pinço 6) lavrado por Rod Smallwood (q tem participado dos agradecimentos em discos da Donzela desde “A Matter Of Life And Death” – 2006) em “The Book Of Souls: Live Chapter” (2017) misturando celebração, dever cumprido e momentos “visite nossa cozinha” e “missão da empresa”:

PREFACE: The Book Of Souls World Tour, which opened in Florida on February 24, 2016 and finished in Brooklyn, New York, on July 22, 2017, was a particulary remarkable and memorable tour for Iron Maiden for a number of reasons. Firstly, and most importantly, it signified the return of Bruce to the live stage, completely cancer-free and, I think most will agree, in better voice than ever, which really was the most fantastic outcome we could have hoped for. Secondly, this tour denoted another series of ‘firsts’ for Maiden: including our first ever shows in China, El Salvador and Lithuania, and for Bruce and Adrian in South Africa. It was our first time touring on the upgraded (and frankly gigantic!) Boeing 747-400 Ed Force One, almost twice the size and three tmes the weight of the 757 EF1 we used for three previous tours. This tour also saw the first ever EF1 accident when the engines were badly damage whilst on the ground in Chile and a mammoth rescue operation was set in motion so the band could reach the next show, across the Andes mountains in neighbouring Argentina. That’s one ‘first’ that I think we’d all have been happy to live without!

(…)

We also had a uniquely passionate welcome right across Latin America, where touring is always a wonderful experience, and the 2017 North America and UK and Ireland arena tours brought out more fans to see us than ever before in our 37 years of touring there. We are fortunate to have amazing loyal fans and well over two millions of you turned out for the Book Of Souls Tour… thank you.

Thanks also got to our Killer Krew and of course to our main special guests – The Raven Age, Anthrax, Shinedown and Ghost, all excellent bands.

We would have loved to have featured every single show from The Book Of Soul World Tour on this live album – all 117 of them! – but of course that’s not possible. It’s always a really difficult decision choosing recordings for a live album, and a huge amount of hard work, consideration, deliberation and arguments, go into every live project that we undertake. As ever though, it ultimately falls to Steve Harris to oversee the final editing and mastering, which he has been working on tirelessly, to bring you what he feels is the most coherent live recording, reflective of this tour. So if your show is not represented here, take it up with ‘Arry!

Seriously though, we hope you enjoy this album and it becomes a lasting souvenir of a memorable time for you too, because of course, a Maiden live show is not just about the band. You, our incredible fans, are equally important in making it what it is: a celebration of great music, great atmosphere, great camaderie and above all, great fun.

See you on the road again next time round… we’re not done yet! Not by a long way!
