Bruce Fairbairn, emérito produtor de hard rock farofa (e do AC/DC), faleceu faltando mixar 4 sons de “The Ladder” (1999), q acabou sendo seu último trabalho. Jon Anderson e companhia o homenagearam no encarte em questão:

“The first words that Bruce Fairbairn said to the band were, ‘Make the best YES álbum you can, the rest will follow’. It was as simple as that. We believe he helped us all realize how important YES music is; he was a kindred spirit, a teacher, a great producer and a pleasure to be with. We all thank you Bruce and miss you. We dedicate this álbum to you…“

Aí, aquele teu sobrinho, ou primo mais novo de 3º grau, ou sobrinho daquela tua ex-namorada q veio te dar mole no Facebook agora q vc se acertou com uma namorada, tanto faz, q foi ao último Rock In Rio como quem vai – e costuma ir – a bar de pagode, micareta ou rave (pra catar mulher e “beijar muito”), te encontra numa rede social dizendo q acha q gostou do tal de Metallica, q meio q viu enquanto tomava uma breja com os “mano” e aguardava na fila do banheiro.

Q acha q gostou nem pq parecia o “Detonautas brasileiro” q um amigo tinha falado, mas pq pensava já ter ouvido uma música da banda nalgum dia em q esteve na casa dum amigo e fuçaram nos cd’s do pai do cara.

Sujeito nem merece muito – ou tvz mereça demais – virar fã da banda…

… mas pra indicar UM SOM q o faça sair dessa vida fútil de ouvir música como quem ouve ruído de construção, qual vc indicaria?

De minha parte, “Master Of Puppets”. Se conseguir ouvir inteira e gostar, vai gostar da banda.

ENCARTE: SYSTEM OF A DOWN [2]

Há pouco menos de 4 meses, postei preceitos revoltosos em rodapé do encarte de “System Of A Down” (1998). Tardiamente, saquei haver este outro manifesto – esperançoso? – na contracapa da caixinha:

“As the century nears its formidable end, our global experience of universal proportions, predicted by many greats, will arrive at our solar system. To our system of a down, authoritharian opression, family abuse, depression caused by conformity, and economic devastation will be neutralized by technological terrorism in times of complete chaos. Control will never again be gained for toleration will become extinct. A husband quarreling with his wife will not think twice or regret his spent bullet. Hungry children will not spare the grocer, remorse in all forms will be removed from hman thoughts and actions. Freedom will only be avaiable through revolution or Death. This system of a down is unavoidable as life on this planet becomes unnecessary. ° The hand has five fingers, capable and powerful, with the ability to destroy as well as create. We have the power to stop and reverse the tides of time by making our awareness of abuse known to the powers of industry and their uncouth political arms. Only by raising this awereness and promoting personal Peace within today’s self-defeatist society. Can we allow the planet a chance to avoid self-destruction!
Open your eyes, open your mouths, close your hands and make a fist“.
