ENCARTE: OZZY OSBOURNE

Trecho do release cometido por Phil Alexander, editor-chefe da Kerrang!, no encarte de minha versão de “No More Tears” (91):

“ANOTHER SONGWRITTER who collaborated with Ozzy and the band during the writing of No More Tears was Motörhead mainman Lemmy who co-wrote ‘Hellraiser’, ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’, ‘Desire’ and ‘I Don’t Want to Change the World’ with Ozzy, guitarist Zakk Wylde and, on the latter two tracks, drummer Randy Castillo.

“Lemmy is fucking incredible! I love the guy!” enthuses Ozzy on the subject of a man he describes as “one of my oldest and greatest friends”. I go round to his apartment and he goes ‘What have you got?’. I usually tell him that I’m confused about where to go with a set of lyrics. That’s what happened with ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’. Whenever I do the scratch lyrics in the studio I have a phrase or a melody that I like. It doesn’t mean that I’ve got the whole thing. With that track I said to Lemmy “I’ve got this vocal which goes ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ but I’m not sure what it means”. He just went “Give me an hour”. I came back an hour later and he had about 10 sets of lyrics for that track. And he goes “If you don’t like any of them I can change them”. Incredible!”.
