Mesmo formato (envelope de papelão) e modus operandi (release copioso e anônimo) do disco do Carnal Forge q postei há duas semanas. Verso do meu invendável (sob pena de processo e prisão), e q deveria ter sido devolvido (“it is being licensed for promotional use only and must be returned on demand”), “Emprise to Avalon” (2002):

The German melodic Black/Death Metal act SUIDAKRA have worked particular hard and taken significant steps forward into the center of attention throughout these last couple of years: Within their first incarnation in 1994, some early demos and the self-financed release “Lupine Essence” in 1997, the label Last Episode quickly signed a deal with the up-and-coming musicians and release the acclaimed records “Auld Lang Syne” (1998), “Lays From Afar” (1999) and “The Arcanum” (2000). The feedback on the releases was amazing both by press and listeners, who praised the band for their inspired and well-balanced mixture of raw Death/Black Metal roots with major harmonies, a formidable Pagan/Folk atmosphere and bombastic catchy Heavy Metal songwritting that appeals equally to fans of bands like Blind Guardian, Running Wild or Skyclad (of whom they succesfully covered the track “The One Piece Puzzle” on their latest album). SUIDAKRA played important events such as Wacken Open Air, Party-San Festival, Summer Breeze Festival, Wave Gotik Treffen or also Westfalen Festival, did a tour with Vintersorg and Graveworm in Spring 2001 and went on to sign a new worldwide deal with Century Media Records for the release of the next record, “Emprise to Avalon”. After some line-up changes, SUIDAKRA once again entered Stage One Studio with their longtime producer Andy Classen (Holy Moses, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Krisiun, etc.) by the end of 2001 to professionally capture nine newly composed songs for this lyrical concept album dealing with the legends of King Arthur, Excalibur, Camelot and the magic of Avalon. “Emprise to Avalon” will guide you through sonic landscapes of war and pure enchanted tragedy with a combination of aggressive material but also some truly atmospheric intermezzo acoustic pieces as well as highly varied vocals and literate, narrative anthems. Kris Verwimp (Absu, Old Man’s Child, Arch Enemy, etc.) once again managed to suitably capture the essence of the storyline of the album with an amazing artwork design and now that SUIDAKRA have been confirmed to appear at this year’s edition of both Wacken Open Air and Summer Breeze Festival, you can be assured that “Emprise to Avalon” will conquer the attention of a new, larger audience for this distinguished band. And then the gians will dance…
