ENCARTE: THE WHO
Roger Daltrey, enfileirando justificativas para si mesmo e esclarecimentos não solicitados no encarte de “Endless Wire” (2006):
“ALL THAT PLUS ONE
I am a singer, an actor, an interpreter, an alchemist who turns words into emotions. Just like Oliver and Gielgud strove to connect the audience with Shakespeare, I strive to connect the listener with the soul of Pete Townshend‘s music. His writing is always inventive and challenging. The Who are now two and for me it still works. It is something that has always existed in that space between the members, be they two, three, or four. It’s a ‘space’ where our audience are welcomed. To say that I am filled with trepidation at the start of the recording process would be an understandment. It is sometimes a tortuous process to get my mind to let go of the words, to consume them, inhabit them and release them. My voice exists in the ‘space’ that’s created, where the heart of the song is. Sometimes between the ones and the zeros, the other side of the Mirror Door. It’s been a 24 year wait but worth it – well done, Pete!“
